IOANNIS GLYKOKOKALOS

Ioannis was born in Lesvos, Greece in 1937 and earned an engineering degree in Greece. In 1975 he received a BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art and the Art Students League. He has shown continuously since then.

“No doubt inspired by an upbringing in the church, I understood even from a very early age the transcendent magic of mysticism. That interest in mysticism would later find an outlet in my paintings and the study of Byzantine music. As a young man, I saw the world mostly in black and white, youth and revolution inseparable."
